Importing References from Files

You can import references from text files that have been downloaded from reference databases or exported by other reference managers. This is useful to import references from sources not directly searchable from the Online Search

  1. Download the reference file from your online source to a file system directory accessible from your machine
    1. Downloading reference files from PubMed (note, the more efficiency way of downloading references from PubMed is using the Online Search)
    2. Downloading reference files from Ovid Medline/Embase
    3. Downloading reference files from Web of Knowledge
    4. Downloadng reference files from IEEE (note, the more efficiency way of downloading references from IEEE is using the Online Search)
    5. Downloading reference files from Scopus (Elsevier)
    6. Downloadng reference files from ProQuest
    7. Downloading reference files from EndNote
    8. Downloading reference files from MedNar, EnviroNar, Science.gov
  2. Click on the Import Citations button on the Synthesis Main Window
    1. In the Open dialog, select the file that you have downloaded or exported from the external source
    2. Click Open on the Open dialog. The import process will occur, showing the number of imported references
